Press Release Body: TAM CEO gives tips on garnering TRPs
New Delhi, August 14, 2008 - Studying audience behavior for the segment your program targets is the key to improving viewership ratings, said Mr. LV Prasad, CEO of Television Audience Management (TAM). He was addressing the students of the new batch of Mass Communications and Management at the Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication in the city. As an agency that looks into television audience, the TAM head advised students that building interest factors in the programs and differentiating from look-alike channels were crucial factors.
Giving his valuable insights, he referred to the wedding of Bollywood celebrities - Abhishek Bacchan and Aishwarya Rai - which was emulated by the popular television serials being aired around the same time to boost their TRPs. Another example was of the highly popular incident of a small child, Prince, which had the entire country glued to their TV screens for nearly two days.
